Grossglockner High Alpine Road

Experience Austria's most impressive view live

An excursion to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the highest and most beautiful pass road in Austria, is an absolute must during your vacation at the Lukashansl. Be enchanted by the view of the surrounding Hohe Tauern mountains.

Your excursion on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road

Directly from Hotel Gasthof Lukashansl in the center of Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße, the route takes you via Fusch to the ticket office in Ferleiten. From Ferleiten, the well-maintained road climbs up the mountain in wide serpentines - either via the Fuscher Törl to the Edelweißspitze, the highest point of the road, or via the Hochtor to the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe at the foot of the Pasterzen glacier.
Stop off at one of the many rest stops along the way and discover the full splendor of the region on a short panoramic walk in the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Highlight of the Alpine road: the view of the Großglockner

Each of the 36 hairpin bends on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is a delight. However, the absolute highlight remains the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe at 2,369 meters above sea level with its breathtaking view of the 3,798-meter-high Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain.
